IF you are Mr Popular, or simply Ms Pushy, DVD rental service CinemaParadiso's new loyalty scheme could earn you free films for life.
Leading DVD rental service CinemaParadiso has launched a new loyalty scheme, offering a free DVD rental package for customers who persuade six friends to subscribe to the service.
Don't pay a thing
So long as you always have six buddies using the service, you don’t pay a thing!
Bruce Stevens, Reviews Editor at DVD Rental comparison site Choosedvdrental.co.uk is sceptical about the offer.
"CinemaParadiso have done well to come up with an excellent incentive like this, but it does make me wonder whether it is realistically achievable," he said.
"It will certainly suit those who have a big bunch of friends and who somehow hold powerful influence over them, but it’s difficult to imagine how most people would ever find 6 willing friends to sign up, and then stay signed up."
Incremental
CinemaParadiso customers who consider themselves more a Billy No-Mates will be pleased to know that the loyalty scheme is incremental, so only getting one friend to sign up will earn a 1/6th discount on the monthly fee.
"CinemaParadiso is an absolutely excellent DVD Rental service – certainly one of the best out there - which fortunately makes it a lot easier to recommend to your friends and keep a clear conscience," said Mr Stevens.
"Whether you tell your friends that them signing up is keeping your service free is another question altogether!" he added.
To qualify for the loyalty scheme, you must already be a member of CinemaParadiso’s rental service. You then send email invitations to your friends to sign up to the DVD service. Each friend will receive 5 free DVD rentals, and if they sign up to be a full paying member, CinemaParadiso will credit your account with 1/6 off the cost of your current membership level. This will continue every month, and for every friend that joins your discount will increase.
