Blockbuster Goes To Court

BLOCKBUSTER DVD rental have named Gregory Hoblit’s Fracture number one in a list of ‘essential courtroom’ films.

The thriller has been rated four stars by Blockbuster’s online DVD rental customers, taking the number one spot away from Steven Soderbergh’s Erin Brockovitch (which came in second place), and the ChooseDVDRental.co.uk team’s personal favourite The Crucible (which came in seventh).

Other noteworthy films making it onto the list include High Crimes, The Rainmaker (based on number one best selling author John Grisham’s book) and Presumed Innocent.

As one would expect, plenty of the Law and Order and Boston Legal box sets also featured on the list.

However if you are searching the list for a bit of Easter related entertainment you’re going to be disappointed. Christmas is covered with Miracle on 34th Street, however the Easter slot is yet to be filled.

Passion of the Christ anyone…?

Win a Digital Sound Projector with Lovefilm

THOSE generous giants of DVD rental, Lovefilm are giving their DVD rental customers the chance to win a fantastic Yamaha YSP-500 Digital Sound Projector.

There are two sound projectors up for grabs, which could be yours from just answering a simple question.

Part of the award winning Digital Sound Projector range, the Yamaha YSP-500 is worth over £500.

The lucky winners will be able to enjoy their films with top quality sound. The 24” box will fit perfectly under your TV, and wires and additional speakers will be a thing of the past!

To enter the competition visit the Lovefilm website.

Boomerang’s Best Adult Games (No, not those types of adult games!)

IT’S not just kiddies that enjoy working out their thumbs on their favourite games console. That’s why Boomerang Games Rental has put together a list of their top games that are rated over 18.

Sliding into the number one spot is everyone’s favourite gangster game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (on PS2). This hottie is all about guns, girls and cars and is a must have for anyone who craves the excitement of a police chase, but is too wise to run.

The much hyped Manhunt (on PS2) nips into second place, followed by Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (on Xbox) and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (on PS2).

Fans of Scorpion will be pleased to see Mortal Kombat Deception on both PS2 and Xbox feature prominently on the list.

Perhaps disappointingly the list does not feature any rental games released after 2005. ChooseDVDRental.co.uk’s in-house gamers would recommend Resistance: Fall of Man (on PS3) and The Darkness (on Xbox 360) for more recently released over 18’s gaming.

LoveFilm Easter Egg Hunt

TOP DVD rental company Lovefilm is getting into the Easter spirit, with their own, unusual take on a traditional Easter egg hunt.

Their ‘fiendishly difficult’ hunt will take you around the Lovefilm DVD rental website, searching for eight eggs, each with a letter on them. Once you have found all the letters you will need to rearrange them into the title of a famous Easter related film.

There are eight clues to the whereabouts of the eggs, and each clue will give you instructions on how to find the egg. To keep things simple the trail has been limited to only standard DVD titles, rather than HD and Blueray.

To take part simply visit the LoveFilm website. Happy hunting bunnykins!
