Are you after DVD Rental news? Look no further. This is our weekly round up of what's new in the world of UK DVD rental and games rental.
Lovefilm staffers try their hand at movie reviews
IF you’ve ever watched Jonathan Ross over-using the autocue whilst prattling on for too long about an over-hyped movie release, you may want to cast your eyes on Lovefilm’s new Staff Video Reviews.
The Lovefilm Staff Video Reviews are a lo-fi collection of YouTube-esque video reviews by the very staff that make the DVD rental giant run.
While we don’t think they should be giving up their day jobs, we have become fans of the rather dashing Fliss, who gives it all in her passionate reviews of Kill Bill and Hard Candy, while looking at every point in the room except directly into the camera!
The good news is that this is not just for Lovefilm staffers. Lovefilm are beckoning everyday users to send in their video reviews to list on the site.
Official: ChooseDVDRental is the 41st best way to save money
AS if there was any doubt about the sheer value of moneysaving we offer when it comes to finding, comparing or switching DVD rental services, the latest issue of Web User magazine has made it official.
In the 17 – 30 January 2008 issue of the popular fortnightly web and internet magazine, ChooseDVDRental.co.uk is featured as one of the 60 best ways to save money in 2008 in their main cover story titled ‘Save Money Online: 60 Fantastic Ways the Web Can Earn and Save You Cash’.
To be precise, the DVD comparison site is listed as number 41, ahead of Orange Wednesday’s two-for-the-price-of-one cinema tickets!
So what did they say?
“Rent DVDs for free
The smart way to rent DVDs these days is to sign up to an online service. There are a lot to choose from and they all offer free trials so you can watch as many movies as you like before the free trial period ends. Visit Choose DVD Rental to compare the latest deals.”
Amazon DVD Rental shows worrying signs of bad customer service
WE’RE concerned here at ChooseDVDRental HQ with the large number of angry emails we’ve been receiving recently about the poor service offered by Amazon DVD Rental, especially in light of our positive review of Amazon DVD Rental on the site.
While we still receive positive opinions on the Amazon DVD rental service too, we’ve decided to re-test Amazon DVD rental immediately.
Our new review will appear soon, but until then, if you decide to go with another DVD rental service, please let us know what you think of them.
