MICROSOFT users catch up with their Nintendo-loving rivals, at least DVD rental wise, this week as Lovefilm confirms its launch on the Xbox.
Lovefilm join around 40 big television and entertainment brands launching on the platform worldwide before the New Year.
Although neither Microsoft or Lovefilm are willing to confirm the date when the service will be available.
Many speculate that an XBox Live dashboard update scheduled for November 15th would be good timing for the launch.
In the UK, the list includes BBC iplayer, Channels 4 and 5, Blinkbox, Crackle and Screenrush.
BSkyB, Last.fm and Zune already have on-demand content available through the Xbox 360 platform.
"This is an exciting and important deal for our customers and is the next move in Lovefilm's strategy of helping as many homes as possible connect to our service," said Simon Calver, Lovefilm's CEO.
"Xbox LIVE already has a large consumer base of all ages - all of whom will now be able to connect with our great content, whether TV series', exclusive digital films or DVDs, Blu-rays and games by post, all for one simple price."
Platform power
Lovefilm's streaming service has been available on the PS3 since last year and on Sony internet-TVs for even longer.
Almost all subscribers can access some form of streaming through any of these platforms.
The £5.99 a month DVD rental deal offers two hours a month of the free stuff; the £8.16 DVD rental seal and £10.20 DVD rental and games deal offers four hours and anyone with unlimited monthly discs gets unlimited streaming too.
Only those with the very cheapest deals - £4.99 DVD rental and £5.99 DVD rental with games - don't get any streaming.
Even those with just a few hours, or who aren't Lovefilm members at all, can pay to view, though.
It's about £2.99 to watch most movies once.
