THIS week sees an unlikely collaboration between Microsoft and Tesco, whose pectorals had you voting in droves, and your chance to win in a new competition from Blockbuster.

Tesco and Microsoft get together to offer 'Virtual DVD's'

Tesco has teamed up with software giant Microsoft to introduce a new download-at-home service, dubbed as the 'next generation in home viewing'.

The service, built on Microsoft's Silverlight technology (a web-based programme, similar to Flash), will allow customers who purchase certain home movie titles in Tesco to download digital copy versions of the movie to their home computer. It is estimated to be available from the autumn.

Microsoft has called it a 'virtual DVD experience', and state that quality levels will be similar to that of a physical DVD. The digital versions will also include bonus material and interactive features such as automatically updated trailers, related MP3s and ringtones, and 'movie viewing parties with online chat' (whatever that happens to be).

"This is just the beginning," said Rob Salter, category director for Entertainment at Tesco. "In the future we expect to offer our customers innovative digital solutions that far exceed the DVD experience and deliver exclusive content, web events and services wherever and whenever they want them," Salter said.

So far, the system looks similar to rival that of US giant Netflix, who offers a digital pay-per-view service using the Silverlight technology, which so far has been notoriously plagued with glitches.

Craig tops top torso poll

Daniel Craig has been voted top of the pecs in a LoveFilm poll for the best movie torso.

Craig bagged the top slot for his bare-chested appearance in Casino Royale, after emerging from the sea in nothing but a pair of skimpy shorts. With 34% of the overall vote, can we resist a License To Thrill pun? No. It appears we cannot.

Coming in a respectable second is Scottish star Gerard Butler as King of the Spartans in the brilliant 300 with 21% of the vote.

Not far behind in third place was Hollywood hunk Brad Pitt for his chest-rippling performance in Troy.

With a top three trio of pectoral perfection, number four might have you slightly baffled. In fourth place was Borat. Yes, that horrific mankini scene earned Sacha Baron Cohen a bona fide fourth place in the poll with 7% of the vote.

We can only assume that Sean Connery and Leonardo DiCaprio (5th and 6th respectively) are less than impressed with those results.

...and finally, if you want to win something this week...

Put on your spacesuits, and set your homing devices to blockbuster.co.uk, where Blockbuster are giving away the entire Battlestar Galactica box-set on Blu-ray.

Follow the remaining survivors of the Twelve Colonies search for Earth.

For your chance to win, all you need to do is answer the following question: In which year did the original series of Battlestar Galactica appear on television? A: 1987, B: 1989, C: 1978, D: 1968

Go to blockbuster.co.uk/competitionhome/competition.aspx before 26th September for your chance to win!.
