FINALLY, a young DVD rental company that really does give the big DVD rental players a run for their money.
And what a run it is giving them. MyMovieStream DVD Rental is consistently scooping up accolades for their Lovefilm-rivalling service.
Impressive catalogue
MyMovieStream DVD Rental is well constructed, well designed and jam-packed with a very impressive 40000+ catalogue of titles (admittedly not quite as large as DVD rental giants Lovefilm, but catching up fast).
But it's the performance of MyMovieStream's DVD rental service that elevates it to the premier league. Signing up before 3pm will see a clutch of movies arrive on your doorstep the very next day, and general DVD turnaround is very fast with movies being processed on the same day as receipt.
While we have received a few complaints regarding Mymoviestream's questionable customer service, the general concensus is positive.
High-demand system
We are especially impressed by some of the small innovations employed my MyMovieStream DVD Rental, in particular the special sleeves in which high-demand rental DVD's are sent out, reminding you to watch those ones first.
Of course there is no obligation to do so, but that little reminder is undoubtedly what keeps MyMovieStreams delivery of high-demand titles so fast.
While MyMovieStream allows you to send back DVD's in dribs and drabs, you will be prioritised higher for rental DVD's in high demand by sending back the maximum amount of DVD's from your last delivery in one MyMovieStream DVD Rental return mailer.
Impressive packages
MyMovieStream's expansive range of DVD rental subscription offers is also impressive, including a series of 2 'limited discs per month' packages which we have found are always great value for money and suit busier people who don't have time to watch films every night of the week.
For students, slackers, dole-dossers or retired millionaires with 50" plasma TVs above the jacuzzi, there are plenty of unlimited DVD rental packages to choose from too, all at competitive prices.
Whether the MyMovieStream service can remain as fast with turnarounds as it is now will become evident with time, but at the moment MyMovieStream's slightly higher prices for DVD Rental are probably worth paying for the satisfaction of that constant stream of rental DVD's through your letterbox.
MyMovieStream get two-thumbs up for:
MyMovieStream's inclusion of trailers for many of their movies, which makes browsing for DVD rental titles an absolute pleasure. The MyMovieStream team also get a pat on the back for their Socialist-inspired idea of sending out high-demand DVDs in special priority sleeves, so you (and other renters) are reminded not to sit on it too long.

Customer Reviews
Remember, the customer reviews below are subjective (and are not the opinions of ChooseDVDRental.co.uk).
Jo Foster from Washington writes... 5/14/2008 "A very poor company - account was cancelled yet they let the subscriptions run on for a year. My account has been passed to an agency who are trying to obtain the money through menances and my moviestream are mainitinging that I owe them the money also, please be careful when siginging up with this company."
Claire Shepherd from Hunstanton writes... 4/23/2008 "The mymoviestream two week free trial was a con for me and many others! I took the two week trial cancelled it before it was over and returned my dvds in time. However they chose to send me out more DVDs so that I could not get these back in time, and therefore they tried to charge me a months rental. I wrote a letter explaining and heard nothing more. I recieved a letter this week saying I owed them £93.00 which for a free two week trial is very expensive!!!! Lovefilm is much much much better!!!"
Wendy from Highland writes... 1/24/2008 "MyMovieStream clearly don't have enough Dvd's to go around. I was subscribed to receive 3 at a time but of my 30+ list of requests few were ever available and so I recieved the occasional 1 or 2 but was still charged full price. I cancelled my MyMovieStream membership and then 4 months later was advised that my cancellation had been denied and that I had been accruing fees ever since. MyMovieStream states: “PLEASE NOTE - For security reasons, major account amendments such as Cancellation Request or Package Upgrade/Downgrade, MUST be made via the MyAccount section of the MyMovieStream website when logged in using your username & password and cannot be accepted by email, telephone or post under any circumstances.” As soon as you request a cancellation they remove the link from the site and customer services are evasive and unhelpful. I would not advise anybody to get involved with this company."
Glen from Luton writes... 10/10/2007 "*Almost* perfect. Unlike many other people, I didn't try to get 30 free rentals during the trial - having been around a bit, I had more realistic expectations. My first two disks (numbers two and four on my list) turned up the day after I joined. The "we've just sent you..." notice is a nice touch. It took me a few days to get around to watching these, eventually getting them back in the post on Saturday. Monday morning I got the "we received" emails (I really like these), followed a couple of hours later by the next round of "we've sent" ones. True to promise, they turned up the next day. No other company (and I *have* tried them all by now) has managed same-day turnaround. I was interesting to see what would happen once I became a paying customer, and I have to report... nothing! It all carried on as usual, the service was just the same. Have now been with them for four paying months, and the service hasn't slacked off at all. Granted, I'm not a heavy user, maybe eight or ten films a month, but I really can't fault them.... so why not *absolutely* perfect instead of just *almost*? Well, for the service to be rated that high, there would have to be no room for improvement. And of course there always is - I didn't get numbers one and two off my list on the first shipment. Not fair, maybe? Do we really expect these companies to carry truly unlimited stock of expensive new-release titles? Maybe. But if they'd managed that, they would have got top score. As it is, I'm happy enough - I still get titles from the top of my list (or near enough), and their availability guide at least gives me a hint about how long I'm likely to be in the queue. I get value for money, and enjoy their service. No reason for me to try anywhere else, besides I've already done that, and MyMovieStream are pick of the crop."
