ONLINE games rental provider PostBox Games offers a smallish array of games to rent - just 974 and counting - across an adimittedly commendable range of gaming consoles that includes DS, GC and GBA alongside the usual suspects.
Sadly though, the PS3 is yet to be represented here.
Nonetheless, while it is great to see so many different consoles supported, when you look at the total figure of games available, they tend to spread a little thin when divided out between the various platforms.
Powerful games search tool
They may not have every game out there, but the Postbox Games' spanking new website looks pretty tasty, is easy to use and their search facility is excellent, even allowing you to search by publisher (something we don't see on enough games rental sites these days).
We're also big fans of Postbox Games' new 'Coming Soon' section on the Postbox Games homepage, which gives a clear overview of all the soon-to-be-released games titles you can look forward to renting in the coming months. It also allows you to add any forthcoming game title to your games rental queue so you can receive it as soon as Postbox Games stocks it.
Short 10-day free trial
Postbox Games' games rental package prices are average but there is a short free trial - which allowed us just enough time to safely rent one game - that kicks in as soon as you sign up, so if you are a sceptical type, you can freely try Postbox Games before committing to a full month's games rental membership.
Whether the ability to get just one game during the free trial is really enough to judge the ins and outs of the PostBox Games rental service is another question, and we'd love to see the free trial period upped to at least 14 days.
Poor customer support
On the whole, we were pleased with Postbox Games' range of games to rent, but less blown away with the Postbox Games customer service and less-than-helpful telephone support.
Additionally, recent feedback from our users suggests that perhaps there are some problems at Postbox Games - something we'll keep any eye on over the next few months.
Postbox Games get two-thumbs up for:
Postbox Games offers rental games for just about every games console since the PS1 (but is yet to include the PS3).

Customer Reviews
Remember, the customer reviews below are subjective (and are not the opinions of ChooseDVDRental.co.uk).
Jim Jones from Luton writes... 9/6/2007 "If you value your money, I strongly recommend a more reputable games rental site. These scammers have repeatedly tried taking funds from my bank more than a year after I came to my senses and cancelled my membership. Calls will NEVER be answered, emails are copy and pasted, and if your lucky to even get one, chances are it will probably be something unrelated! Avoid at all costs."
Tanisha from Derby writes... 9/5/2007 "This site is just outrageous. I joined them hoping to get 3 games at a time for my 6yr old son, but only one showed up in a whole month!!!! When I decided to cancel, I was charged more than £119.97 (39.99 per disc) for lost games which is just criminal. On top of it all, they were games I hadn't even added to my list, put simply, how the hell is a 6 yr old gonna play a game like Tom Clancy Splinter Cell for xbox 360 on a PS2? I am still fighting to get my money returned and advise any sensible gamers to avoid these idiots!"
Tim Hardwood from Leicester writes... 9/5/2007 "1 star is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for these clowns. I signed up for their "free 10 day trial", no games sent out for 5 days so I cancelled and they confirmed it. 3 months down the line from out of nowhere, they decide to take 80 pounds from my account for lost games that I never got and for a service I cancelled before it even began. The phone is never answered, only once by an 8 or 9 year old and the 2 email responses I ever got were copy and pasted paragraphs from their FAQ section. I'm stuck trying to get my money back and this site NEEDS to be shut down."
